The Ultra Brightening Accelerator Mask contains a powerful blend of 8 skin brightening agents and skin exfoliating ingredients. The ingredients in the Ultra Brightening Accelerator Mask work to rapidly break down melanin within the skin and accelerate the removal of hyperpigmentation.
This unique mask treatment has been developed specifically for use within the treatment room to work in conjunction with a home care program. It has shown to visibly diminish mild to advanced pigmentation and helps minimise future skin discolouration. This is an ideal complement to a course of peels or an alternative to a peel for clients seeking a different treatment option which offers less downtime.
What causes Hyperpigmentation?
The skin can take on colours of varying intensity depending upon how much pigment is produced, how evenly it is spread and whether it is predominantly a reddish or brown colour. When the production of melanin is uneven and excessive, it clusters in localised areas in a disorderly fashion forming brown freckles or “age spots”. The sun is the primary cause of the production of excessive pigmentation. Another common problem of excessive pigmentation is called “melasma”. This condition manifests with patches of excess pigmentation symmetrically on the face including the forehead, the cheeks, the upper lip and the chin. There is often a family history of melasma. It commonly first occurs on pregnancy. It can be exacerbated by oral contraceptives. Some patches of excess pigmentation are reactions to the application of phototoxic products such as perfumes.
How does the Ultra Brightening Accelerator Mask treat hyperpigmentation?
The Ultra Brightening Accelerator Mask contains a powerful blend of skin lightening agents and hyperpigment blockers. Under medically supervised testing it was shown to lighten hyperpigmentation after a minimum course of 4 treatments. It also contains an optimal blend of highly effective exfoliating ingredients (AHAs and BHA). It is the ideal treatment to boost the homecare program of skin suffering with signs of hyperpigmentation.
What are the benefits of the Ultra Brightening Accelerator Mask compared to a peel?
The difference between peels and the mask is the delivery method, the content of anti-pigmentation ingredients and the concentration of AHA ingredient. The mask delivery allows a light peel effect with less than one third of the AHA normally used for a peel with minimal downtime.
How often and how many treatments will be required?
For best results a minimum of 4 treatments is recommended fortnightly in conjunction with a full homecare program.
How will my skin look following the treatment?
During treatment the client will experience ‘flushing’ (rapid onset of feeling of heat), this demonstrates actives are penetrating through the skin. Following this treatment skin will appear pink / red in colour as though this skin is sunburnt. Slight inflammation will also be present but will subside within 10 minutes to half an hour following the treatment. Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF Range is recommended following the treatment with an application of Ultra CC Mineral Powder to conceal redness.
Light flaking is to be expected within 1 to 2 days following the treatment. Active ingredients such as Vitamin A, AHA’s BHA and Vitamin C should be discontinued for 48 hours following the treatment to reduce any risk of increased sensitivity. Following this period, clients may reintroduce their actives and resume their normal regimen.
